Claude-Andr\u00e9e Rocheleau, Beno\u00eet Converset, Andy Bourgeois and S\u00e9bastien Croteau<\/strong> (Osh’n<\/strong>) present \u00ab Profondeurs \u00bb<\/em><\/strong>, an immersive exhibition project highlighting the sonic and visual riches of the Region of Coaticook over four seasons.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The project \u00ab Profondeurs \u00bb<\/strong> is an immersive, sound and visual art installation, of landscape captured by image and sound. The \u00ab timelapse \u00bb video covers 4 full days spread over the four seasons. Through sound spatialization as well as nuanced compositions, where the sounds of nature intersect with those of the composers, the public will be able to hear two parallel universes that overlap. The video images of the same landscape chosen in the MRC of Coaticook, are broadcast on four walls, like successive screens, where the viewer can see the seasons pass and disappear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the junctions of the seasons, coinciding in the videos at nightfall, the viewer is plunged into darkness. This timeless pause, symbol of the infinite depth of change between the seasons, invites the viewer to feel it within themselves. The granular treatment of the sounds captured during the 4 shoots suggests the slow metamorphosis of the cycles. Sound spatialization gradually directs attention to the screen associated with the next season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition will also be presented in performative form during the opening, the artists of the Osh’n collective will perform for the spectators, but also as a living form among all this digital. That said, the exhibition is designed from the ground up to be self-contained and disseminated on a larger scale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The experience, which lasts about 20 minutes, runs on a loop, without beginning or end, allowing the viewer to take part in it at any time, also recalling the cycle that has no beginning or end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This project was made possible with the support of the MRC de Coaticook as well as the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Qu\u00e9bec. The emerging collective Osh’n<\/strong> has also just received a third grant from the CALQ for their new show \u00ab\u00a0Le silence et moi\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong>, which they will present in the spring of 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
