SYLLAD

SYLLAD, a project by multidisciplinary artist Sylvie Rochette and photographer Ladislas Kadyszewski, explores the theme of the tree. En forêt avec Talbot et Le Gray (In the Forest with Talbot and Le Gray) takes us to the favorite locations of these two 19th-century photographers: Lacock Abbey in England and the Fontainebleau Forest in France, in the spring of 2024.

This collection of photographic works and digital sculptural creations, created in March 2024 following in the footsteps of William Henry Fox Talbot (Lacock Abbey, England) and Gustave Le Gray (Fontainebleau Forest, France), offers a fresh perspective on the tree. Once an aesthetic subject for these 19th-century photography pioneers, it has now become a subject of environmental concern. .

This project received financial support from the Longueuil Arts Council.

Opening reception Sunday, March 22th, at 2pm
