Gaieté d’hiver

Musée Beaulne, 96 rue de l’Union, Coaticook, Québec, Canada, J1A 1Y9

This year we are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Beaulne Museum. The richness of its collections is revealed to the public. The visual arts collection includes several paintings exploring the theme of winter, a season that evokes a range of emotions such as calm, solitude, gentleness and wonder, as well as landscapes and atmospheres created by snow, ice, and mist. In terms of painting, winter suggests a subtle palette of colors: shimmering whites, icy blues, poetic grays, contrasts of light, and more.

The selection of paintings explores a variety of subjects, treated according to the artists' inspiration, but above all in relation to their environment, thus demonstrating the universality of the theme despite different experiences. The work of Thérèse Dassylva, Jacques Maréchal, Camille Racicot, Suzanne Richer, Richard Kermode, Donald Côté, Emoke de Galoscy, Edmond J. Massicotte, Claire Guillemette Lamirande, Yanick Lebel Morneau and Anne-Marie Desrosiers Matte will be on display in a festive atmosphere.
